serenbe

Serenbe is a model in sustainable development, land conservation and the leading wellness community in the country. It has been called an Agrihood, a conservation neighborhood, a sustainable community and most recently a wellness community. The innovative community model and vision of Founder Steve Nygren, who leads the placemaking team, was born in an effort to protect the beautiful rural land just outside of Atlanta known as Chattahoochee Hill Country. The first house at Serenbe was built in 2004 and today the community is home to over 850 residents, and just over 35% built out. Serenbe has won numerous awards including the Urban Land Institute's Inaugural Sustainability Award, the Atlanta Regional Commission ‘Development of Excellence",” Southface's EarthCraft also named Serenbe the “Development of the Year,”  see all Serenbe’s awards.

Cornerstones of the Serenbe model is the protection of 70% of the land, implementation of extensive energy and water conservation including green building certifications and geothermal heating and cooling, and the integration of local food production such as regenerative farming.  Each of Serenbe’s neighborhood hamlets have complementary commercial centers focused on the elements of a well-lived life: arts for inspiration, agriculture for nourishment, health for wellbeing, play for a joyous life and education for awareness.

Serenbe is a place you can enjoy for a meal , a weekend or call home for a lifetime.
